Minimum Wage Posting to our Members
July 24, 2009: The current Federal Minimum Wage rate of $6.55 per hour increased
to $7.25 per hour.
Every
employer of employees subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act's minimum wage provisions
must post, and keep posted, a notice explaining the Act
in a conspicuous place in all of their establishments
so as to permit employees to readily read it. The content of the notice is prescribed
by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor.
Employers
are required to post the most recent Federal Minimum Wage posting along with the
5 other required Federal Posters. This is the case even if your state's minimum
wage is different. Also, the Federal Government recently released the NEW Family
and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) poster based on revisions finalized in November.
This posting became effective January 16th 2009.
Our
Federal Labor Law Poster includes the following SIX mandatory postings:
- 2009 Federal Minimum Wage - effective
July 24th 2009
- OSHA Posting
- Equal Employment Opportunity in the Law - revised
08/08
- USERRA Posting - revised 10/08
- Employee Polygraph Protection Act
- Family and Medical Leave Act - effective
